Equipping the Saints
Jesus commands that His church go and make "disciples of all nations." (Matt 28:19)
"Disciple" literally means "student," "learner," and "follower." So it is one of the critical labors of the church to instruct Christians about who Jesus is, what He has done and what He commands.
The primary way the church makes disciples is to ground them in God's word, the Bible. As Paul commanded the young pastor Timothy, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." (2Tim 3:16-17)
Besides the study of the Scriptures, Christians are called to seek the Lord in prayer and render their God given talents for the glory of the Kingdom.
