The Lord Jesus commands, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matt 28:19-20)
One of the primary purposes of the church is to go beyond itself into the world to evangelize (to proclaim the Good News of the crucified Christ), make disciples (to make learners/followers of Jesus) and to perform works of charity.
The Second Congregational Church of Winsted is currently trying to strengthen its labors in this field so that we can proclaim and show through word and deed the peace that only Christ can give. As Jesus said, "Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you." (John 20:21)
