Sunday School

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually
see the face of My Father who is in heaven." - Matt 18:10

The Sunday School of the Second Congregational Church of Winsted has three main goals:

  1. To lead children and adults to Christ
  2. To educate children and adults regarding the unique truth of Christianity and its Holy Scriptures
  3. To educate children and adults regarding the meaning and requirements of a life lived in Christ

The Second Congregational Church of Winsted offers Sunday School for all ages from 9:00 to 9:45 AM on Sunday morning, before the worship service which begins at 10:00 AM. The Sunday School's main curriculum is the excellent "Show Me Jesus" by Great Commission Press.

On most Sundays, either Pastor Doug or Pastor Dan leads a biblically based children's message during the service. All children are asked to attend the beginning of worship. Children's Church is available for the youngest children (3rd grade and under) and takes place during the last three quarters of the service. However, we encourage and welcome children to remain in worship so that they can learn good habits and be part of worship of the Lord on His day, no matter what their age.

The Second Congregational Church of Winsted has maintained a strong commitment to Vacation Bible School and offers an excellent program attended by many children from the surrounding community. Vacation Bible School will be offered during the week of August 3-7 this year.

There is no Sunday School during July and August, but Summer Church is available for younger children during these months.

If you have any questions about our children's programs please contact Pastor Dan Cote, our Associate Pastor and Director of Christian Education.
