Kathy A. Craig

Kathy has been a lifelong resident of Waterbury, CT until February 2022, when she moved her family to the Torrington, CT area.

Kathy joined the staff at the Second Congregational Church in May 2022 bringing with her over 15 years of church related experience as she is also currently working part time at the United Methodist Church of Watertown, CT; as well as previously working at the United Methodist Church of Woodbury, CT.

Besides being the Office Administrator at both churches, in Woodbury, she’s chaired the annual Pumpkin Festival and other fundraising events; co-chaired the Mission & Outreach Ministry; assisted with the Open Doors Ministry; and the Family Nurture Ministry.  Kathy was a vital member of the staff keeping the office lines of communication open through  the Covid-19 pandemic.

In her administrative role at the Second Congregational Church; Kathy oversees the daily operation of the office assisting two pastors and other committee chairs.  She has taken her prior experience to grow the position taking on new responsibilities as Chair of the Memorial Committee as well as other responsibilities to lighten the load for others. 

Kathy and her late husband were licensed foster parents thru the State of CT since 1996 and raised 32 foster children; adopting 5 that were in her home prior to her husband’s passing in 2006.  She continued on with work and her community service responsibilities as well as being the “team mom” for all her children’s school and sporting experiences.

Kathy prides herself on her “give back” attitude as she volunteers with the Exchange Club of Waterbury helping to raise funds to support programs on Child Abuse Prevention while holding various positions in both the local club and CT District; the Brian Gibbon’s Homeless Outreach Program where she has co-chaired the annual golf tournament for the past 6 years; and currently volunteering with the Peace Center of CT, Inc. in which she has received a  Peace Hero Award  along with 5 others in CT. 

Along with her daughters Amber and Andrea; grand daughter Alivia; two of her sons also live in Torrington (Peter and Lou) and her granddaughter Victoria lives in Bristol with her mom. Her son Hector now resides in Florida and her biological son Malcolm and his family reside in Ferndale, WA.
